It was wonderful to see so much thoughtful learning happening across our campus last week. From engaging classical learning seminars to lively classroom discussions and hands-on activities, our students were asking meaningful questions, sharing ideas, and growing together as learners. There’s a great energy in our classrooms right now!
The student dress code remains unchanged this year to preserve consistency and a strong sense of belonging. As the weather begins to cool, please remember that sweaters, sweatshirts, and windbreakers must be solid navy blue, maroon, or white. Our annual 8th Grade Catalina Island field trip will take place Monday, September 7, through Wednesday, September 9. This optional three-day science trip gives our eighth graders a wonderful opportunity to explore, learn, and build stronger connections outside the classroom. Our dedicated chaperones will support the safety and well-being of all students throughout the trip.
On Thursday and Friday, we will recognize Patriot Day with “Red, White, and Blue” Spirit Days. Students are invited to wear red, white, and blue in honor of the day. We will also hold a brief assembly featuring local first responders who will share their experiences. Classroom conversations will focus on patriotism, courage, and heroism, and we encourage families to continue these meaningful discussions at home.
We’re looking forward to a full and memorable week at Heritage!

MEAL SERVICE PROGRAM AT HERITAGE FLEX ACADEMY
Heritage Flex Academy offers free breakfast and free lunch for all students. There is no advance sign up.
Breakfast Reminder Breakfast is served from 8:00–8:15 am. No breakfasts will be served after the warning bell.
Parent Communication & Student Participation Please talk with your child each morning about whether they plan to participate in breakfast and/or lunch that day. This helps our team prepare accurate meal counts and ensures your child knows your expectations.
Allergies & Dietary Restrictions If your child has any food allergies or dietary needs, please ensure we have a doctor-signed Medical Statement Form
on file. Families may also submit a Fluid Milk Substitution Form
(parent-signed) if they prefer lactose-free, soy, or oat milk.

All 8th grade girls interested in joining The Sister Project, the Google Form
and the Permission Slip

ATTENTION ALL K-5 PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
Come join us as we put our Classical Learning skills into action at Consortio Learning Together. Our kindergarten through fifth grade parents and students are invited to join us on Monday, September 14, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the HFA courtyard. As parents and students, we will dive into the science curriculum to explore Archimedes’ Lever. Bring your Laboratory Apprentice Journal, pencil, crayons, and colored pencils. It’s going to be a fun morning, and we don't want you to miss this opportunity to practice our homeschool habits together and connect with each other!

There are some amazing virtual field trips exploring hidden cities, Justinian’s cathedral, art, and artifacts from the Byzantine Empire found on pages 202-203 of the Usborne Encyclopedia of World History Quicklinks.
This amazing resource can really make history come alive for our students.
We had a wonderful time learning about Rembrandt and creating art together in the park this past week! 🎨 It was such a fun afternoon, and we loved seeing everyone’s creativity!
Throughout the school year, students will be creating their own Art Portfolio as we learn about 10 different artists and explore their unique styles and techniques. Our next Art in the Park will be September 16th,1:00 - 3:00 PM, when we’ll learn about Jacob Lawrence and create a project inspired by his colorful and expressive artwork to be displayed at Back-to School Night, October 8th. If your family would like to participate in Art in the Park, please watch for additional information in our Weekly Newsletter, sent each Monday.
