A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Heritage Flex Academy Families,

Thank you for helping our students shine during International Dot Day last week by adhering to our dress code and joining in the fun. Your participation in school events is always deeply appreciated.

I also want to thank all who attended our first Consortio gathering—what a wonderful turnout! We are grateful for your ongoing partnership and support.

This week, we will continue our emergency preparedness practice with another evacuation drill. This one will be held jointly with our sister campus, Heritage Junior High, to ensure our students and staff are ready and confident in the event of an emergency.

With kind regards,

Sandi Knapp

Principal

New & Time Sensitive Information

END OF THE GRADING PERIOD ON FRIDAY: The end of the first grading period for our fourth-eighth-grade students is this Friday. We encourage all parents to check the Grades Portal to stay up-to-date on their child’s academic progress, and please consult the syllabus for your child’s class for information about missing/late assignments. If parents are having trouble accessing the grades portal, please email Mrs. Jacobsen at sjacobsen@amhcs.org or give us a call at (760) 466-1166.

SUPPORT FOR THE SPILLANE FAMILY                                                                                                                                 Dear HFA Families,                                                                                                                                                                      One of our AHCS families has recently experienced a heartbreaking loss. The Spillanes are part of our school community, with four children attending HFA, Heritage Elementary, and ECHS.

At this time, the best way we can support them is by collecting gift cards.

  • Meal gift cards will help ease daily routines.
  • Gift cards for essentials or family activities will provide support as they adjust to life as a one-parent household.

Thank you for surrounding the Spillane family with care during this difficult time.                                                                 Warmly,
Sandi Knapp and the AHCS Administration

HFA CAMPUS TOUR: If you know someone who is interested in learning more about our school, we will be hosting our monthly campus tour at 10:00 a.m. Please have them sign up on our website under admissions if they are interested.

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL CLINIC: Looking for a fun way to keep your daughter active on the Columbus Day school holiday? Does she want to learn about the new CIF sport of flag football? The Escondido Charter Flag Football program is hosting a fundraising clinic on Monday, October 13. This is a great chance for girls to learn the basics of the game, improve their skills, and have fun with their friends. We're offering the clinic for girls in grades 2 through 8. There are two options for the day: (1) Half-Day Clinic: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or (2) Full-Day Clinic: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Be sure to register your daughter by September 29 to ensure she gets a camp shirt! For more details and to sign up, please fill out the Google Form.

ATTENTION ALL K-5 PARENTS AND STUDENTS!: Come join us as we share, make connections, and learn together at our next Consortio: Learning Together on Monday, October 27, in the HFA Courtyard. Be sure to save all future dates found on this Consortio: Learning Together Calendar. If you have any questions, please reach out to Gina at gcurley@amhcs.org.

CONSORTIO PARENT MEETINGS: We are excited to invite you to Consortio: Partnering with Parents—a monthly gathering created to inspire, encourage, and support you on your parenting and educational journey. Save the date for the next meeting on Wednesday, October 15, @ 8:30 am in the 1845/TK Building. Be sure to save all future dates found on this Consortio: Partnering with Parents Calendar. If you have questions, please reach out to Jill at jthomas@amhcs.org.

PARENTS WHO WANT TO VOLUNTEER: All volunteers must fill out the required Volunteer Application (a new one every year) and submit it at least one week in advance of their volunteer date. This applies to anyone working directly with the students. All paperwork will need to be reviewed and approved by the principal before volunteering. Unfortunately, this means we can not accommodate last-minute volunteers. Additionally, all volunteers working with students must have a current TB test or screening on file.  Thank you so much for your help in ensuring a smooth process.
